Lonestar SC SA Announces New Player Development Plans
May 14 2012 - LSSA Training Leadership

Lonestar SC SA is excited to announce formal plans to begin playing selected teams up an entire age group where developmentally appropriate based on player ability and maturation level technically, physically and psychologically. This will begin in the U11 age group and may continue into U12 and U13 when the Lonestar professional staff believes it is in the best interest of the players and teams being considered.

Teams playing up a level will be identified with the “Dev” label in their team name. For example, the 02 Red SAN team would be re-labeled 01 Dev SAN for the coming year if playing up in the U12 age group.

97B Red SAN Qualify for Premier League - West
Apr 02 2012 - KJ Toso

Congratulations to our 97B Red SAN team for winning both challenge matches this weekend to qualifying for Premier Leauge - West for the Fall 2012 season.  Coached by Jimbo Parks, this team began as a Super 2 team their first year of competitive play. By qualifying for Premier League West, this team has now cemented their position as one of the top teams in the Texas/Oklahoma region. This is a great accomplishment for these young men...well done boys!

The US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League provides an opportunity for the most competitive teams in Region III (South) to play each other on a scheduled basis. The league will be comprised of boys and girls in the age groups of Under-14 through Under-18.

Each State Association decides what will be the criteria for selecting teams to be considered for inclusion in the upcoming Premier League season. Each State Association is invited to present at least two (2) teams in each age group/gender.

The US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League committee is comprised of a volunteer from each member State Associations plus the sub-region coordinators and a league chairman. There are no paid positions. To a person, the sole intent is to furnish the top teams in the region the opportunity to play the most competitive schedule for as little cost as possible.

Spring Pool Training

Spring Pool Training

Lonestar SC San Antonio held a 98G pool-training session tonight at Culebra Creek Soccer Complex.  The session combined  both 98G teams and truly highlighted the talent and work ethic of all our 98G players.

Lonestar SC San Antonio is hosting pool training sessions for all age groups and genders as we feel pool training develops  a culture of "Club"  and unity among the players.  Sometimes club soccer focuses too much on the development of teams, where we feel the focus should be on the development of  the player. Pool training among all teams in an age group helps players develop and challenges them in a new and different environment.

We will host many pool training sessions throughout the spring.
